ATHINAIS - AN ANCIENT HELLENIC TITLE FONT

In commemoration of Herodes Atticus, a distinguished man of letters whose daughter Marcia Athenais is honoured in an inscription which survives in Athens (said inscription having provided the motivation for the whole initiative), the Supreme Council of Ethnikoi Hellenes has commissioned the Laboratory of Computational Mathematics, Mathematical Software and Digital Typography of the Department of Mathematics of the University of the Aegean to produce a character font for a particularly beautiful type of ancient Greek lettering. YSEE distributes this font free of charge under the name "Athenais", for the benefit of all admirers of Greek civilization.

THE EUROPEAN COURT OF HUMAN RIGHTS VINDICATES LITHUANIA’S ETHNIC RELIGION (ROMUVA)

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has rendered a historic decision in favour of Lithuania’s ethnic religion (Romuva) in its recourse against the state of Lithuania which had been refusing to grant Romuva the status of a State-recognised religious association, despite Romuva’s meeting all eligibility criteria prescribed by law.
The Supreme Council of Ethnic Hellenes, as the legitimate body representing the Hellenic Ethnic Religion and its followers, welcomes this historic decision which vindicates Romuva, but also all ethnic religions and traditions that seek their recognition and their right to full and equal protection under the law in relation to the public exercise of their religious practices, precisely as such recognition and protection are afforded to all other religions.

There was a reason our Hellenic ancestors in the archaic and classical periods of Greece valued shame (αιδώς) as an important political virtue that any public official must possess. For those who possessed it were unlikely to put their petty personal interests and gains over public interest, not simply because of a temporary feeling as most people today regard shame, but rather, as a well-thought ethical decision to be just and obedient to laws written and unwritten. It is rather unfortunate that modern day Greek politicians, tend to be devoid of any shame and are exhibiting a callous disregard for transparency and accountability. We have witnessed time and again the ways that Greek politicians in order to curry favor with the Orthodox Church, funnel millions to the the church’s coffers in addition to the obligation to pay the annual salaries of all priests in Greece. The Falsehoods Of Christian and Jewish Persecution in Rome and Egypt by Chris Aldridge
History is ripe with crafting, especially by those who have the privilege of writing it, and Christians have taken the reins for 2 millennia. Among the most common claims are those of Christian and Jewish persecution at the hands of mean old Pagans. It bothers me because, for one, it's either false or exaggerated, and two, it's used by some modern Christian leaders to arouse hatred against anyone who doesn't follow into the kind of society and government they want.

With the rise of Christianity, Historiography went under some radical changes. Previous approaches and perspectives of the Greeks and Romans were either rejected or revised. To create a Christian historiography, pagan history was reworked in a Christian worldview, which dismantled traditional pagan identities in the process. Christians formulated new interpretations of history, one in which God guides human affairs, instead of fate, chance, emperors, and or capricious gods of the Roman world. Christians also changed how time operated.
